Okke van Bergen (OvB)
A deep love for studios, all kinds of them, really. A passion for studios. Thats what I always had. Though I’m not one to share too much about myself, I prefer letting my work speak for itself. But, just so you have a bit of context, here’s a little history. I hope you enjoy it!
It all started when I was a teenager, and my fascination with audio and recording studios began to grow.
After graduating, my career took off at Studer Revox in Switzerland, where I received training in professional audio. And I was lucky. It was during this time that I got to be a part of a major shift in the industry. Transitioning from analogue to digital audio. Being one of the first to specialize in digital audio was both exciting and challenging, and it helped me grow as a technical and sales engineer. And so, I was lucky again. This experience led to the opportunity to manage large-scale projects in broadcasting, audio, video, and media.
After a while, inspired by the encouragement of my clients, I transitioned into an independent role as a project and program manager. And as well as an advisor. Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to work on and manage over 250 successful projects in audio, video, and business-to-business sectors, spanning across Europe.
I see myself as someone who brings people together—whether it’s stakeholders, vendors, or technical teams—all with the goal of achieving a successful project outcome. It’s a bit like a game of chess: thinking ahead, making the right moves, and always keeping the bigger picture in mind. Ultimately, I want every project to reflect my love for studios and the work we do. And help you to realise great projects!

“The Sky Radio Group, located in two buildings in Naarden, recently underwent a renovation of their studio facilities for both Sky Radio and Radio Veronica. Led by Charley Moolhuizen (Director of Operations) and carried out by a technical team, the renovation included updating the technology to meet the standards of today, as well as increasing efficiency. The process required flexibility from all involved, and posed a logistical challenge, as the station had to continue broadcasting during the renovation. However, the final result was worth it. “It was a logistic puzzle,” says Berjan & Okke, “But the result is there.”
New studio for Ambassadors
“Ambassadors Studios, a creative production company in Amsterdam, built a new studio on Herengracht in the historical center of the city. The studio includes video editing and post-production suites, a grading room, and a voiceover studio. The company appointed studio builders OvB & KB to handle the acoustic design, furniture, and integration of the voiceover studio into a large living room space. The project was challenging due to the large size of the building and the need to consider factors such as stability and acoustic characteristics. According to Marco Baay, a partner and sound designer at Ambassadors, “Every detail must be perfect from the initial recordings to the final mix.”
Creating the ideal learning environment
The biggest challenge in this project was integrating existing and new technology and suppliers, including new solutions like ProtoPixel and LuzNegra. The final result had to meet the needs of the end user, in this case the students, by allowing them to play and experiment with the technology in the “work spaces” while also being easy to use. Through collaboration with OvB & KB and various suppliers, D&MS created a state-of-the-art learning environment with a lot of integrated technology. The project was executed using D&MS’s ISO-certified method, including a defined scope of work and approval from GLR.
